Rick Moore picked up three trophies at the All Harley Drag Racing Association's Awards Banquet, held October 13th, in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
With 853 points, he took first-place nationally and in the eastern division, on Mid-Continent Motorsports' Pro-Dragster. Teammate Chuck Jones, finished second.
Moore was equally pleased with his sixth-place finish in the Pro-Fuel class. "Considering this was my first year out, I'm really encouraged. The competition is really tough. It's been an honor to race next to accomplished riders such as Doug Horne, Chris Streeter, Tommy Sloan, and John Breckenridge."
Banky Racing was impressive in the Pro-Gas class. Moore piloted the bike to a third-place finish nationally, and second in the eastern division - making the team's best finish yet!
However, the highlight of the evening was when Mid-Continent Motorsport's owner/tuner, Mike Bahnmaier was named MAC Tools Pro-Wrench of the Year. As Moore stated, out of 11 races Bahnmaier has had 14 bikes in the finals with 10 wins in 3 different Nitro classes. He allows other riders to live their dream riding his bikes. He works countless hours traveling and working to keep 4 bikes competitive in the AHDRA. He holds 2 National Records. He does all of this at the sacrifice of his retirement. He is and will always be my Hero. Thanks Mike for the last 3 championship years and the 6 sec over 200mph runs."
