Moore Performance Racing
2 BIKES, 2 TEAMS, 2 MOORE  FINALS

The Stone Mountain Harley Davidson Southern Nationals were held on May 24 and 25th, @ the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.  For the fifth-straight race, Moore qualified first place on Mid-Continent's Championship Pro-Dragster, with an E.T. of 7.722 - just nearly beating teammate Chuck Jones' time of 7.724.  Moore admits "Our times were great, and certainly a tribute to Mike Bahnmaier's fine-tuning."   Moore broke the  beam during first round eliminations, and took out Darrell Rice in the semi-finals.  Unfortunately, fellow-competitor Rickey House broke in the water box during the finals.  Due to a broken piston in the engine, Moore was advised to break the beam (rather than break the bike) for his third win this season.

Banky Racing had an equally impressive weekend in the Pro-Gas Class.  Moore qualified fourth place - and team owner, Bob Banky, was able to overcome track conditions to get his bike to the finals.  "The competition was tough," states Banky.  "We were really excited for Karen Wagner who scored her first E.T. in the 7's - but this also meant we had our work cut out for us."  The Banky bike performed consistently. Moore was fortunate to beat Wagner with a 7.927 @ 161.34mph, and then move on to the semi-finals where Mike Lozano broke at the line.  At this point, they too had their share of mechanical issues.  A broken valve lifter prevented them from getting to the finals - and Dale Raudenbush won the event.    Currently Moore sits in first place in the Eastern Division of the Pro-Gas Class.

*Due to lack of nitro availability, Mid-Continent Motorsports decided to sit out this race on the pro fuel bike.  Fans will be pleased to know the bike will be returning to competition at the Ohio Bike Week Nationals
